FLESH & BLOOD – VOLUME 2

I contributed an essay called “Boccaccio’s Bastards: The Decameron from Pop to Porn” on the Italian Decamerotics (Italian sex comedies derived from or inspired by Boccaccio’s 14th century anthology The Decameron) to this second edition of Harvey Fenton’s widely acclaimed journal of cinema and video, an outgrowth of his earlier Flesh & Blood Magazine. Though published in 2011, this essay was the result of a lengthy independent study undertaken in my final year of Medieval Studies in 2002, and is still to my knowledge the most substantial piece in the English language on this oft-maligned but prolific subgenre.
